She was called home to be with God under the loving care of her three daughters and Hospice of the North Country. Janina was born in Poland on July 12, 1927, the daughter of Stanislaw and Bronislawa Tuderek. She met her husband, Wallace, in Germany after World War II where he was stationed in the U.S. Army, and were married Aug. 2, 1946. They returned to the States and lived in Star Lake for 30 years and later moved to Keeseville in 1978. Her husband, Wallace Stowell, died March 10 2001. Janina was separated from her sisters during the war at age 14. It was God's will that she be reunited with them in Poland in January of 1999 after 57 years, which was a source of great joy and happiness to her. She loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens outdoors, picking any kind of berries, playing bingo, senior citizen functions, outings and took pride in keeping her home and yard meticulous. She attended and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. Her family was always the center of her life, with hard work, love, and harmony being the virtues she extolled. Janina is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lena and Victor Pomerville of Keeseville, Rosemary DeCirce of Keeseville and Barbara and Barry Deal of Oklahoma City, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; her three sisters of Poland, Helena Kujawska, Lucyna Lewandowska and Stanislawa Czajka; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband and her parents. Calling hours will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Keeseville. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Good Shepard Church of the Nazarene in Keeseville with Pastor David Drake officiating. Burial for Mrs. Stowell and her husband will follow in the Port Douglas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the North Country.
