I didn't think that he ever really went well with Samuel as the name is so unlike the other children. I thought that perhpas he had been adopted. I like your theory. In addition I have 2 sons for Warren. One is unnamed, but born c. 1790 and another named Alpheus born after 1783 who married Hannah Bates in Cummington. Perhpas my unnamed son of Warren is Eliphalet.
