I think I have all the info I need on the Stowell line, its Joseph Stowell's wife, Rachel Livingstone line that I wanted to research because of what they named one of their children, Joseph Salu, my GGgrandpa. I wanted to know where that name came from and since I didn't see it in the Stowell line it has to come from her line. If you have any info on her line could you send it to me? Thanks so much, your cuz Jeanine

I've been on this list for quite some time. Anyway, my Stowell's are in MO, and my ancestor George William Stowell is a brother to your Joseph Eli. My line comes down to Hannah Louisa who married Ralph Crabb, and then I have history on the family going back the other way to David in Hingham, MA. What information do you need? I am happy to find a cousin and will share whatever I can.

Unfortunately my genealogy program (ancient) won't let me sort by geographical location. I did scroll through all my Stowell entries though and the location doesn't show, but somewhere that town has raised a ribbon on my tree. Tim

Hi All. I'm currently researching my family line of the Stowell's (Stole) who originated from the Isle of Man, and particularly Braddan. This is the line from Kermode Stowell who's children landed up in Pietermaritzburg in South Africa. I would like to hear from anyone who can add some advise on how to trace passenger lists to South Africa and provide or share any further information to do with this line. Regards Mark Stevens
Merry Christmas to you Tim and all the Stowell cousins. I am not sure if all the Stowells are related somehow like my main line (Babcock). If anyone knows, please let me know. I am descended from the Stowells through my great grandmother (Lillian Ellen Stowell). I have her descendency from Samuel and Mary (Farrow) Stowell I have the lineage from Richard the Magnificant through Nathaniel Stowell, b. 1734 m. Lois Bugby. I would be glad to share information with anyone who is interested. Laurien

He is my Great Great Grandfather! His son Alfred Deoran Stowell is my great Grandfather! His son Alfred Cornelius Stowell is my Grandfather! Alfred Deoran Stowell married Mary Annie Glass. My mother's name was Mary Alverna Stowell. Her brother, Alfred Jason Stowell is my uncle. He and his wife and children would come to visit for Family Reunions in New Mexico from Texas and when we were real small he would hold us on his lap and sing "The Old Rugged Cross" etc. We loved him special. Jennifer Stowell's father is my cousin! (Ellery, Nancy, Steve and John.) My mother always spoke very highly of her grandfather (Alfred Deoran) and held him in the highest regards. I remember him visiting from Arizona when I was a very young child before he died in 1963. I am very interested in the ancestry, and am working on a family tree for my new and first grandchild. I am wanting to know about Alfred Deoran's siblings, and his mother and father. My mother told me he had a brother named Bert Stowell. And now I know that he also had at least one sister. Can you help me find the names of Alfred Deoran's siblings, parents and grand parents? Does anyone know Oscar Stowell's middle name? I know my grandfather, Alfred Deoran and his mother moved from Iowa to Elida, New Mexico, and from there to Roswell, New Mexico. Alfred Deoran spent his retirement years in Arizona. But I am curious as to where they came from in Iowa. Was it Des Moines? And before Iowa? I would like to trace them all the way back to England. Alfred Cornelius Stowell married my grandmother Harriett Caroline Hendrix. My Grandmother was very sweet to me and I am also curious to know her ancestry. Her mother's name was Hattie Butler and I think her father's name was Jason Hendrix. They lived in Elida also. (I think) Does anyone have any info for me Stowell, Hendrix, or Glass? Also Birthdates and death dates if possible. Jennifer if you read this message could you please ask your grandmother (my Aunt Alice) if she knows any of this family's history? My mother can't remember things as well as she once did. Any Info would be appreciated. Regards: Alverna Blaise Beverage

Yes, it looks like they might be different Nathans, but it has been so long since we had a break in this line and the dates are right for a possible link. Since Nathan and Mary separated not long after they were married (over the Mormonism question, no less), it seems reasonable that he might have remarried. I think it's a possibility worth keeping an eye on, in case that's the link we've been missing all these years. If you unearth anything else, let me know & I'll do the same. Hugs, Aunt Faith
