    3. Hello Liz - about 2 years ago I submitted a series of surnames that were in my family tree, that didn't seem to have DNA projects at the time, to Terry Barton who manages WFN WorldFamiliesNetwork http://www.worldfamilies.net/ and he had FTDNA FamilyTreeDNA http://www.familytreedna.com/ create a project for Stowe, with Stowell as a variant spelling :) I never thought of the two as possibly being related names ... but who knows :) if they turn out not to be, they can eventually be separated into two separate projects ... your welcome to join this project if you wanted to ... but you say you "already bought a test kit" for your brother ... if it was through the same testing company your still welcome to join us :) http://www.familytreedna.com/surname_join.aspx?code=J23335&special=true Ken - hdpth-DNA > [Original Message] > From: <[email protected]> > To: <[email protected]> > Date: 4/30/2007 4:12:06 AM > Subject: [STOWELL] DNA Study for the name of Stowell > > I have bought a DNA kit for my brother to do and he has agreed. 1. [STOWELL] Resolutions
    2. Tim Stowell
    3. The old year has left us. All of its triumphs and tragedies, hopes and dreams are now a part of our history. In comes the new year, a clean slate, upon which we will write our own story. On this first day, we can resolve to do many things. Many of these will soon be lost in the busy part of our lives. Still here and there some of those seeds of resolution will bear fruit. >From the writer of Ecclesiastes - "To everything there is a season... a time to be born and a time to die..a time to weep and a time to laugh..a time of war and a time of peace. May the new year bring you many triumphs, few tragedies, dreams fulfilled, faith in your fellow man, hope for the future and charity for all. To celebrate the promise of the new year I'm passing along the URL of a site I created in 2005 of vintage New Year's cards from my personal family collection. http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ga/state1/cards/newyears.htm If you missed the vintage Christmas cards, there is a link included to view them. May you have a wonderful New Year. Tim

    1. [STOWELL] Tis the season
    2. Tim Stowell
    3. Tis the season to be with family, celebrate or create traditions unique to your family. For those of you who've added members to your family this year by birth, marriage or discovery - congratulations. For those of you who've lost members for whatever reason, my condolences. Some traditions pass as do the generations, while others are continued or created. For my family I remember my father speaking of his childhood in central New York in the 1930s, where on Christmas Eve his father would go out, find, cut down, a tree for Christmas. Brought back home it was decorated with among other things candles, which were lit at some point. For myself, the last few years when we've gone to Minnesota for the holiday, usually after lunch on Christmas day, we've walked down the middle of the local river for a mile or more, seeing the tracks left by the various creatures in the snow on the river and river banks. Sometimes we see pheasant and once I saw a snowy owl. To celebrate the season I'm passing along the URL of a site I created last year, of vintage Christmas cards from my personal family collection. http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ga/state1/cards/chrstmas.htm Merry Christmas to you all, Tim

His wife, Eleanor, was the daughter of Lester Stowell as you mention. James was living in Wisconsin in 1850, but apparently traveled back to NY to marry the sister of his lifelong friend, Truman Stowell. James and Eleanor are found in the 1860 census in Cattaraugus County, NY. They quickly moved to Wisconsin, and stayed there until moving to Livingston County, MO, around 1871 or 1872. If you have information about the parents or siblings of James Hawley Fuller, please contact me. Thanks!
