The following obituary appeared in the August 17, 2001, edition of the (Galesburg, Illinois) Register-Mail: Delois A Stoutt Little York- Delois "Dee" Arthur Stoutt, 77 of rural Little York, died at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 15, 2001) in Community Medical Center, Monmouth. He was born Sept. 1, 1923, in Datto, Ark., the son of W.O. and Anna Derouse Stoutt. He married Datha Maxine Kick on Jan. 2, 1943, in Corning, Ark. Surviving are his wife; three sons, Arthur D. Stoutt, St. Petersburg, Fla., Greg (and Shani) Stoutt, Hollywood, Fla., and Mike (and Patti Jo) Stout, Loxahatchee, Fla.; one daughter, Melinda (and Brian) Clark, rural Kirkwood; two sisters, Vi (and Harry) Mattson, Stillman Valley, and Alice (and Art) Hilliard, St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters. He was reared and educated in Datto. A veteran of World War II, he served as a private first class in the Army. He farmed most of his life in the Little York area. He also worked for 13 years at Admiral in Galesburg. He retired in 1984. He was a member of the Little Cedar Presbyterian Church and the Marion B. Fletcher American Legion Post 136 and the J.W. Clendenin VFW Post 2301, both of Monmouth. Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth, with David Dutton officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday; the family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Community Medical Center Rehabilitation Department or the Physical Therapy Department.
