The following obituary appeared in the August 25, 2001, edition of the Salt Lake (Utah) Tribune: Mary Katharine Kinney Stout Saturday, August 25, 2001 Mary Katharine Kinney Stout, 80, passed away suddenly on August 22, 2001, as the result of a car accident. Born on May 12, 1921, in Prosser, Washington, to Sylvia Lovelady and Allen D. Kinney. Married Platte DeVon (P.D.) Stout on September 14, 1945, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mom was a life long learner who loved to read, quilt and garden. Her treasures were her family, her flowers, and her dog, Wraggs. She is survived by her husband, Salt Lake City; children: Steven Stout (Joan); Jane Crockett (David); Laurie Stout; Jonathan Stout (Carleen), Texas; Lisa Mikule (Frank); and Kevin Stout (Linda), Nevada; brothers: Clifford Kinney, Roseburg, Oregon; David Kinney, Union Gap, Washington; sister: Bonnie Richards, Beaverton, Oregon; 17 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents and one grandson. Memorial services will be held Monday, August 27, 2001 at 10 a.m. in the St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church (4914 So. 2200 W.). Friends may call Sunday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary (255 So. 200 E.).
