The following obituary appeared in the July 15, 2001, edition of the (Portland) Oregonian: Sarah Reed Stout A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2001, in the chapel of Riverview Cemetery for Sarah Reed Stout, who died July 12 at age 87. Mrs. Stout was born Sarah Reed on Oct. 30, 1913, in Portland, where she lived all her life. She graduated from St. Helens Hall High School and the University of Oregon. During World War II, she served in the U.S. Women's Army Corps. She was a piano teacher at Lewis & Clark College in the 1950s and 1960s. She was a past member of the boards of the Mann Home and of Willamette View Manor. In 1946, she married Lansing Stout Sr.; he died in 1992.
