The following obituary appeared in the August 24, 2001, edition of the Lancaster (Pennsylvania) New Era: Catherine H. Stout, 83, of 11 E. Lincoln Ave., Lititz, died of natural causes Wednesday at Ephrata Community Hospital. Miss Stout retired in 1985 after 13 years in the housekeeping department at Brethren Village. Earlier she was in housekeeping at Lancashire Hall and United Zion Retirement Community, Lititz. Also, she was a baby sitter and worked at a number of children's retail shops in Lancaster and Lititz. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lititz. At the church, she was a member of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the Sarah Circle and a blanket making group. Born in Abington, she was the daughter of the late David F. and Lidie Hannis Stout. Surviving is a nephew, D. Stanley Stout Sr. of Scandinavia, Wis.
