The following obituary appeared in the November 2, 2001, edition of the Topeka (Kansas) Capital-Journal: PAXICO (KS) -- Edna E STOUT, 83, Paxico, died Thursday, Nov 1, 2001, at an Alma (KS) nursing home. Mrs Stout and her husband faramed on Snokomo Road and Vera Road in Wabaunsee County (KS) for many years before she retired in 1973. She was born May 28, 1918, in Wabaunsee County, north of Paxico, the daughter of Herman and Lena MARTENS NIEDFELDT. She attended school in Wabaunsee County. She moved to Paxico in 1973. Mrs Stout was a member of the Snokomo Silent Workers, Wells Creek Immanuel United Church of Christ and the Dorcas Circle. She married Roy STOUT on May 20, 1938, in Wells Creek (KS). He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Susan HARRIS, Belvue (KS); a son, Melvin James STOUT, Portland OR; and a grandson. Mrs Stout was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Virginia Lee and Doris Ann. Services will be at 10:30am Saturday at the Wells Creek Immanuel United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Wells Creek Cemetery. relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8:30pm today at R J Evans Mortuary in Wamego. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wells Creek Immanuel United Church of Christ or to Alma Manor and sent in care of the mortuary.
