The following obituary appeared in the November 10, 2001, edition of the Daily Sentinel of Colorado: Nellie Marie Stout August 22, 1918 - November 7, 2001 Nellie Marie Stout passed away November 7, 2001 at Community Hospital. She was 83. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 10,2001p.m., at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. Burial will take place at Orchard Mesa Cemetery. Nettie was born August 22, 1918 at Glenwood Springs, CO to Frank and Lula (Baker) Brown. She spent her childhood in Eagle, CO., (Eby Creek) and attended school in Eagle. She also attended the Colorado Cosmetology School in Glenwood Springs. On May 28, 1940Nettie married Ira James Stout at Moab, UT. She was a homemaker and worked as a cosmetologist. She was a resident of Colorado her entire life, including Leadville, CO where both of her daughters were born. She enjoyed traveling and was able to spend 14 winters in Mexico after retirement. Sewing and crafts of all kinds occupied her time. She was especially proud of her numerous afghans, Indian dolls, seashell creations and display of extensive artifact collection. Much of her time was spent reading, camping with grandchildren, and gardening. Survivors include her daughters, Karen Kay Lunacy, and Glenda Gail Peters, both of Grand Junction; five grandchildren; Jeffrey Aaron Peters and his wife Sheri, Emily Suzanne Thomasson and her husband Dan, Eric, Jamie and Amber Lundy; and two great grands, four year old Cody Nathaniel Dietz and tthree week old Alexander Aaron Petters.
