The following obituary appeared in the October 6, 2001, edition of the Des Moines (Iowa) Register: MILES STOUT Miles L. Stout, 90, of Mill-Pond Health Care Center in Ankeny, died of a heart ailment there Thursday. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ankeny Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Stout was born in Patterson and had lived in Ankeny many years. He had been the owner and operator of Ankeny Cleaners and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Ankeny. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; two sons, Harry of Polk City and David of Ankeny; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Assured Care Funeral Chapel in Ankeny. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
