    3. The following appeared in the December 3, 2000, edition of the Hutchinson (Kansas) News: HOISINGTON - Harold Leo Stout, 90, died Dec. 1, 2000, at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington. He was born June 18, 1910, at Forbes, Mo., the son of Francis Lee and Sarah Smith Stout. A longtime Hoisington resident, moving from Ness County, he was an engineer with the Mis-souri-Pacific Railroad, retiring in 1972. He also owned and operated Stout's Service Station, Hoi-sington, for 42 years. He belonged to United Meth-odist Church, Beeler, and the United Transportation Union. On Sept. 10, 1931, he married Myrtle L. Faris at Ness City. She died Sept. 23, 1990. Survivors include: two sons, Dean M. and Lyle E., both of Hoisington; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Francis; two brothers, Herb and John; a sister, Ethel Whipple; two grandsons; and a great-grandson. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, Hoisington, with the Rev. Wayne Flanders presiding. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoising-ton, and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Hoisington Cemetery.
