The following obituary appeared in the paper in Grand Island, Nebraska, on November 17, 2000: James Stout Sr. LARNED, Kan. -- James Lyle Stout Sr., 71, of Larned, Kan., died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, at his home in Larned. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Morell Funeral Home in Larned. Bishop James Swan will officiate. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to James L. Stout Memorial Fund. Mr. Stout was born Jan. 14, 1929, in Erwin, Nebraska to James Edward and Laura Della (Roberts) Stout. He married Mary Ann Wallingford at Martin, S.D. on Dec. 30, 1983. He had lived at Larned since 1993, moving from Merriman, where he was a retired mechanic. He was of the Christian faith, and a past member of the V.F.W. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War Veteran. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Anita Spencer and Susan Greenamyre, both of Larned, Kan., Donna DeCoste of Chadron and Wanita Wilder of Omaha; five sons, James "Corky" Stout, Charles Stout and Marty Lee, all of Larned, John Lee of Gordon and Regenald Lee of Grand Island; 33 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
