The following obituary appeared in the December 25, 2000, edition of The Oregonian, Portland, Oregon: Ernest Fredrick Stout died Dec. 12, 2000, at age 75. A memorial service was held in Woodburn [Oregon]. Mr. Stout was born Jan. 29, 1925, in Storm Lake, Iowa. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in Europe, receiving a Purple Heart. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Storm Lake for 39 years, retiring in 1980. He also owned a home improvement business in Storm Lake for 20 years. He moved to Woodburn in 1985. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Woodburn. He married Julia Post in 1946. Survivors include his wife; sons, Ronald and Larry; daughter, Jeanette Pierstorff; and one grandchild. Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to his church. Arrangements are by American Burial & Cremation Services.
