    3. The following obituary appeared in the February 5, 2001, edition of the Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent: PALMER -- Roberta A. O'Hern, 95, of Palmer died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at her home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Mike McDermott will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Palmer. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m., Tuesday at Palmer Funeral Home in Palmer. Mrs. O'Hern was born on Oct. 27, 1905, in St. Paul to Thomas and Alice (Mulloy) Stout. She attended St. Paul Grade School and graduated from St. Paul High School in 1924. She worked as a telephone operator from 1924 to 1928 in Palmer. She married Bernard M. O'Hern on Sept. 17, 1928, in St. Paul. They lived on a farm north of Palmer. Mr. O'Hern died in 1952. Mrs. O'Hern was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts and rugs for family, baking and reading. Survivors include two sons, Bernard "Barney" O'Hern of Palmer and Timothy O'Hern of Denver; one daughter, Patricia (Mrs. Richard) Williams of Fullerton; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie O'Hare of Ackley, Iowa; and a special friend, Michele Glynn. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Carroll Rubesh and an infant, Mary Alice; one grandson; one brother, Leonard Stout; and three sisters, Josephine Mercer, Guinevere Stout and Alice Kittridge.
