The following obituary appeared in the November 27, 1986, edition of the Meeker (Colorado) Herald: An airplane accident south of Las Vegas, Nev., on Nov. 6, 1986, took the life of Carl Alan Stout. Carl was born in Meeker to Leon Stout and Anna Freeman on Nov. 27, 1961. He attended school in Meeker, graduating from Meeker High School with the class of 1980. In the summer of 1982 Carl graduated from Northwest Community College in Rangely with an associates degree in aviation. On June 13, 1981, Carl was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Lyke, and to this union two sons were born, Cameron Carl, age 6, and Travis Reid, age 3. His flying career took him to many areas of the southwestern United States including Artesie, N. Mex,; Albuquerque, N. Mex.; Las Vegas, Nev; and finally El Paso, Texas. He was presently employed by South Aero Service headquartered in Albuquerque, N. Mex. Carl joined the Church Of Christ in 1984. He is survived by his wife Barbie, sons Cameron and Travis, father Leon, mother Anna, brother Earl, step-parents, grandparents, a great-grandmother, and a host of friends and relatives. Pastor Rayburn Cox officiated at the Nov. 15 services at the Zobel Chapel. Bessie Allen sang "No Tears In Heaven" and "In The Garden." The honorary pallbearers were Kurt Schrepfer, David Cheatham, Earl Stout, Wayne South, and Delvin Gregg.
