The following obituary appeared in the May 15, 2001, edition of the (Boise) Idaho Statesman: Harold Glenn Stout Harold Glenn Stout, 73, passed into rest at his home in Caldwell on Sunday, May 13, 2001, after a long and debilitating illness. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, at the Marsing-Homedale Cemetery. The Rev. Lonnie Wages will officiate. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Mr. Stout was born Dec. 20, 1927, at Vienna, Mo., to Charley and Zella Keller Stout. He received his education in Missouri schools and moved to Marsing, Idaho, in 1943 with his family. He served his country in the U.S. Army Artillery Division, both stateside and in Germany. He was separated from the Army active duty in 1953, and received his honorable discharge after completing three years of active reserve in 1956. He met, and married Donna Lee Rockwell of Yakima, Wash., on Feb. 14, 1954. While living in Yakima, the couple lost fraternal twins due to a miscarriage in 1954, but a son was born to them in 1955. In 1956, they moved to Ontario, Ore., where a daughter was born in 1957. Glenn served as a city police officer while there. In 1959, they settled in the Nampa-Caldwell area, which has been their home. Glenn's lifelong occupation was carpenter/home builder, and he excelled in finish work and in building specialty items for family and friends. Glenn loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed campouts, hunting, fishing with family and friends. He loved telling stories around the campfire at night and enjoyed playing pranks on the children with his imitation of a brown bear at Lost Lake. He enjoyed traveling with the family and backyard barbecues. He is survived by is wife of 47 years, Donna Lee Stout of Caldwell; his son and daughter-in-law, Charles Glenn "Chuck" and Lori Ann Stout and their children, Christopher, Lisa and Nicholas of Caldwell; his daughter, Gwenda Lynn "Wendy" Fowler and grandson, Jim Fowler and his wife, Traci of Caldwell; sisters, Loeta Dobyns and Connie McCormick of Marsing, Deloris Quintana of Homedale, and Lenora Thomason of Canyon City, Ore..; his mother-in-law, Leona Rockwell of Yakima, Wash.; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Gerald Patnode of Moxie, Wash.; two maternal aunts, Avra Rushing and Della Coonts, both of Homedale; and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three infant brothers; his parents; a sister, Hazel; a brother Don; two brothers-in-law; and his father-in-law. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude and "thank you's" to Dr. Brian Copple and his professional staff from MSTI West for the 17 years of care for Harold Glenn Stout.
