The following obituary appeared in the December 18, 2000, edition of the Daily Jefferson County (Wisconsin) Union: IRENE STOUT Whitewater - Irene J. Stout, 83 of Whitewater, formerly of Rockford, IL, died on Saturday, Dec 16, 2000, at Fairhaven REsidential Facility in Whitewater. Born in Washburn on April 17, 1917, to Albert and Julia (Holmen) Belxrud, she married C. Guy Steig and later married John Stout in 1970 in Rockton IL. He predeceased her. She had been employed in local restaurants for many years and at Borg Manufacturing in Delavan after retiring. She moved to Rockford, IL for several years, returning to Whitewater in 1998. Mrs Stout was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Whitewater. She enjoyed flower gardening. Surviving are two sons, Gordon Steig of Rockford, IL and G. Guy (Pat) Steig of Hatfield, PA; tow daughters, Ellen "Ellie" (Paul) Eichmiler of Whitewater and Joy (Wayne) Wiedenhoeft of Rockford IL; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She also was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth; her parents; a brother and sister. Funeral services will be held at First English Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 20 Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
