John McWhorter An indictment for retailing spirits or liquors Jury sworn to hear case: A.S. Stump, James, Moss, Jacob Burk, Salthiel Goff, Joab Snider, John Killingworth, Robert R. Marshall, Eli Bush, John Wyres, Phillip Rutherford, Phillip Reaser, Carlton Griffith. Found McWhorter not guilty. (Order Book 1865-1873, p. 24.) 10 May 1865 Gilmer County Recorders office. May 10, 1865. On motion of Elzarah Stout she was this day appointed Administratrix of the estate of E.T. Stout deceased and thenceupon the said Elzarah Stout together with Lemuel Stump, David Bosily, B. Blevaut, Wm Burk and C.(?)G. Townsend, her secutiries entered into and acknowleded a bond in the finalty of 8000 dollars conditioned according to Law whereupon the said Elzarah Stout took the oaths prescribed by Law and on her motion Wm Ervin, Wm Cleveland(?) & Wm. Stout was apointed to appraise the goods and chattles [sic] of E.T. Stout. Teste A.L.S. Varner, Recorder. (Order Book 1865-1873, p. 22.) 10 May 1865 - deed recorded 9 April 1866 from Sarah Stump to Anderson Stump for 200 acres on the Kanawha (Order Book 1865-1873, p. 38). 10 Dec 1866 - Levi Johnson appointed commissioner with Elzarah Stout, adminsitrator of the estate of Ezekiel Stout and also to settle with the estate of D.S. Townsend, administrator, estate of E.L. Townsend. (Order Book 1865-1873, p. 46) 11 Feb 1867 - R.F. Fleming appointed administrator in place of Elzara Stout on motion of Lemuel Stump. (Order Book 1865-1873, p. 47.) 22 Oct 1867 Deed from Samuel Noe to Bailey Stump for 162 acres at Steer Creek. (Order Book 1865-1873, p. 58) 11 Nov 1867 deed from John W. Stout to Hiram Pulliam for 45 acres at Steer Creek. (Order Book 1865-1873.) 10 Feb 1869 - Philip Rutherford, Jonathan A. Bush, Jacob Bush, appointed appraiser of the estate of William Boggs. (Order Book 1865-1873, p. 80) 8 March 1869 - Last will and testament of Benjamin Schoonover presented. (Order Book 1865-1873, p. 82) 14 April 1869. Gilmer County Recorders Office April 14, 1869. On motion of A.S. Stout he is hereby appointed adminstrator ---- --- of the estate of Thomas Stout Deceased in the room and the place of B.hoiles(?) Fisher deceased(?) and whereupon the said A.S. Stout and together with Milton Norris his security entered into and acknowledged a bond in the finalty of five hundred dollars conditioned(?) according to law. Stout, administrator of the estate of Thomas Stout, Levi Johnson appointed special commissioner to examine bonds and accounts of the fiduciaries and to settle with A.S. Stout.
