Stout donated an important collection of antiques which became the nucleus of a continuously growing inventory of artifacts, furniture, crafts, and other items. Hopewell at one time was in Hunterdon County - they redrew the county lines and Hopewell in now in Mercer County, NJ. Hopewell Museum is probably where most of the information you are looking for is located. This is where some of the research documents are located that was used for the Stout book. Before you jump in your car and head over - there are a few things you should know. 1. It is a very small Museum with no place for the researcher to sit. 2. They work with volunteers - while the volunteer is taking people on tours they cannot be watching and helping a research. 3. I called ahead and made 4 trips before I was allowed to do any research - this have been a number of years ago. 4. When you write - only ask one question, be very nice and include a small donation - you may receive a reply. Happy Hunting, Kathie Mirabella
