The following obituary appeared in the August 16, 2001, edition of the Des Moines (Iowa) Register: FLOREINE STOUT Floreine Stout, 79; of Chariton, died of cancer Tuesday at Hospice Kavanagh House. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hamilton's Funeral Home, with burial at Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. Mrs. Stout was born in Foster and had lived in Des Moines most of her life before moving to Chariton seven years ago. She was a printer with Weeks and Lee, Retiring in 1991. She enjoyed pets and gardening. She is survived by a daughter, Jane Mills of Chariton; a son, John D. Lee Sr. of Knoxville; two brothers, Andrew Maddison of Knoxville and Philip Maddison of Lovilia; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. The family wil receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Kavanagh House.
