The following obituary appeared in the June 24, 2001, edition of the Charleston (West Virginia) Daily Mail: Eldon C Stout, 78, of South Charleston, died Saturday, June 23, 2001, at his home. He retired from Union Carbide after 34 years of service as a research chemist. He was a veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane S Stout in 1997.Surviving: daughters, Lynn Bergman of Fort Mill, SC, and Laura Netardus of Gainesvile, FL; sons, Charles of Ripley and Andrew of Elizabeth; and seven grandchildren. The body was donated to the Human Gift Registry, Marshall University. In Lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Kanawha Hospice Care, 2243 Dunbar Ave., Dunbar, WV 25064.
