The following obituary appeared in the July 25, 2001, edition of the Hampton (Iowa) Chronicle: Mildred Faye Stout Mildred Faye Stout, 103, of Greene, formerly of the Waterloo/Dunkerton area and Aredale, died Sunday, July 22, 2001, at the Liebe Care Center in Greene. Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 25, at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel in Waterloo. Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, July 25, at 11:30 a.m. at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo. Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Mildred was born on July 2, 1898, at Sellers, Illinois, the daughter of Charles C. and Nettie (Moorhous) Elliott. On March 19, 1918, Mildred married Clarence Eldridge at Dunkerton. They later divorced, and then she married Homer Stout on January 15, 1929, at Mason City. Mildred was employed as kitchen help with several restaurants in the Waterloo area until 1964. She then became active in the Senior Companion Program for 13 years, retiring from the program at the age of 89 years. She also attended Iowa State Teacher's College in Cedar Falls. Living family members include one daughter, Lavonne E. Skillen of Waterloo; two granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren. Mildred was preceded in death by a daughter, Laurel Jean Stout. Memorials may be directed toward the First Presbyterian Church.
