The following obituary appeared in the May 23, 2001, edition of the Jonesborough (Tennessee) Herald & Tribune: MRS. MARY R. HODGES 73, 234 Jim Range Road, Jonesborough, died Saturday,May 19, 2001, at her residence after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Hodges was a Johnson County native and a daughter of the late Wiley G. and Hazel Long Stout. She was a former employee of the Bowman Clinic and retired from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Mountain Home. Mrs. Hodges was a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church, Jonesborough. She was preceded in death by her husband, Haskell T. Hodges; one sister, Marie Taylor; and three brothers, Jack Stout, Paul Stout and Richard Stout. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Rebecca Krieger and Elizabeth Ruth Hodges, both of Jonesborough; three sons, Bennie Keith Stout, Telford, and Boyd Nell Hodges and Robert Tate Hodges, both of Jonesborough; three sisters, Shirley Puckett, Banner Elk, N.C., Imogene Bright, Jonesborough, and Beverly McCurry, Erwin; four brothers, James R. Stout, Wiley G. Stout and Godfrey D. Stout, all of Jonesborough, and Barton E. Stout, Gray; six grandsons; two stepgrandchildren; four great grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren. Dillow-Taylor was in charge.
