The following obituary appeared in the September 29, 2001, edition of the Knoxville (Tennessee) News-Sentinel: STOUT, Jimmie R. - age 71, of Newport, died Friday September 28, 2001, Baptist Hospital of Cocke County. He was a graduate of East Tennessee State University. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, plant manager of Wood Products for 36 years. He served on various committees and was a member of the Smokey Mountain Country Club. He served as President of National Hardwood Dimension Assoc., was past President of Kawanis Club and Past President of the Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by his wife, Duffy Stout of Newport; daughters and sons in law, Jamie and Jim Hamilton of Duluth, Ga., Pamela and Donnie Rick of Newport; brother and sister in law, Jack and Tena Stout of Abington, Va.; grandchildren, Jimmy and Jordan Hamilton of Duluth, Ga., Varanda and Max Rick of Newport; mother in law, Charmie Eastridge of Newport. The funeral will be held 4 p.m. Sunday Sept. 30, 2001 at Rev. Riley Huffstetler, Rev. Vance Eastridge and Rev. Harold Eastridge officiating. With burial in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday prior to the funeral at Manes Funeral Home. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
