My name is Rollie Neal. My 2nd GG Mother on my maternal side was a Stout. My records show Job Bray Stout, b: abt. 1805, s/o Abner Stout and Rebecca Ireland, m: 24 Sept. 1827, in Harrison Co. Virginia, Sarah Johnson. Children: Adaline Emily Stout, b: 22 June 1828, d: 9 Apr. 1916, m: John Waldo VanHorn, 3 Jan. 1850, Doddridge Co., Virginia. Elizabeth Stout, b: abt 1834, m: Jorn R. Lodge, 19 Oct. 1865, Doddridge Co., WV. Draper Camden Stout, b: abt 1837, m: Sarah Jane Lowther, 27 Mar. 1862, Harrison Co., VA. Abner Aretas Stout, b: abt 1838, Harrison County, VA, m: Margaret Sinnett, 1 Mar. 1860, Ritchie Co., VA. Harriett Stout, b: abt 1840, m: Sanford Nutter, 12 Jan. 1871, Doddridge Co., WV. I should explain here that if I do not have a specific date, I always put the abt in front of a year. Instead of ca I simply use abt for about. My records show the Joseph Stout that married Mary Overfield was the son of Job Stout, Jr. and Mary Margaret Richards. Mary's father was Arnold Richards. Her father, Arnold and his brother Paul were killed by Indians near Richard's Fort and Mary became a ward of Robert Lowther. I do not have any information on descendants of this couple. If anyone has information that disagrees with any of this I would like to know about it.
