    3. Hello, I am Linda Stout Deak and I am living in the Netherlands. I am trying to find out when and from where and with whom did Penelope set sail for America in the early 1600's (?40) from here. There are four volumes in the Royal archives here with the names of people and the ships and dates they sailed. I looked for the names Thomson, Kent, Lent and van Princen and have found nothing except for an Edward Kent who sailed to New England 1620-1650. There are so many renditions of the Penelope story that it is hard to pin down a fact or a name. I do not think anyone wrote her story down until about the fourth or fifth generation. I am friends with Jeremy Bangs here who is the curator of the Pilgrim museum in Leiden and he thinks from looking at the bits of information I have that Penelope's father might have been an Anabaptist, a group that separated from the Separatists and worshipped at the small Bejinhof church in Amsterdam. I have a friend who lives there and maybe I can get access to some records. I found this group through Kim. I am copying and pasting the lineage as I sent it to her: Hi Kim, My line stayed in New Jersey until my dad moved out. We are decended this way: Penelope and Richard Stout to David Stout and Rebecca Ashton (moved from Middletown to Amwell) to James Stout and Catherine Simpson to John Stout and Rachel Merril to Nathan Stout and Esther Ketchum to Levi Stout and Mary Bishop to David B.Stout and Jane Merrill (moved back from Amwell to Middletown) to William Bishop Stout and Mary Demerest to James Bishop Stout and Luella K Sherwood and then my father, Louis Sherwood Stout and Martha Jackson (Richard Jackson's aunt). All Stouts. Nathan, my g-g-g-g- grandfather was the author of the history of the Stouts and a revolutionary. I have had a lovely time poking around in the past. I am even trying to find the boat that Penelope travelled on in 1640? from Amsterdam. I live in the Netherlands now. I did find a Thomas Kent,? I am still looking. We are all cousins.
