The following obituary appeared in the March 13, 2001, edition of the Hickory (North Carolina) Record: JANE S. WALLS CONOVER - Jane Stout Walls, 82, of Brian Center East in Hickory, formerly of East Twenty-sixth Street, Newton, died March 11, 2001, at Brian Center East. Born March 27, 1918, in West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Lee and Sarah Adams Stout. She retired as a hospital cafeteria cook after 20 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Israel Preston Walls. Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Asbury of Newton and Geraldine Creel of Morgantown, W.Va.; two sisters, Ona Westfall of Clarksburg, W.Va., and Laura Stout of Reture, W.Va.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted by the Rev.Richard Yaussy at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Drum Funeral Home. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 tonight.
