The following obituary appeared in the March 23, 2001, edition of the Register-Guard of Eugene, Oregon: SPRINGFIELD-Private services were held for Catherine Woodruff of Springfield, who died March 12 of age related causes. She was 87. Woodruff was born Dec. 13, 1913, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, to Macy and Amabel Hart Campbell. She married Joe McIntyre in 1932. He died in 1956. She was married to Wylie Stout from 1958 to 1971 and married Harry Woodruff in 1981. He died in 1995. She graduated from San Diego High School in 1931. She was a foster parent and taught piano and violin lessons in Lakeside, Calif., and Fort Worth, Texas. She worked as a school secretary in Lakeside while attending college. She received a bachelor's degree in education from San Diego State University in 1957 and worked as an elementary school teacher in Lakeside and Riverside, Calif., where she was also a principal. She was a reading tutor for children and adults. She was a member of the Church of Religious Science and Unity Churches in California. She was an active member of the Parapsychology Association of Riverside and enjoyed gardening, visiting, reading, writing and taking classes. She was an accomplished musician and played piano, organ, violin, guitar, harp, recorder and auto harp. She traveled extensively throughout the world. She moved to Springfield in 1996. Survivors include two daughters, Jean Hope of Tucson, Ariz., and Lynn Berryhill of Dayton, Ohio; a son, Larry McIntyre of West Linn; two sisters, Dorothy Damen of Baker, Nev.. and Mary Frances Oullette of Lemon Grove, Calif.; nine grand children; 15 great grand children; and two great great grand children. A daughter, Joann Hansen, and a great grand daughter, Brooke Reay, died previously. Burial will be in San Diego, Autumn Burial and Cremation in Beaverton is in charge of arrangements.
