Dear Carol: Your husband's Henry Cooper Stout is a half-brother to my husband's g-grandfather Ephriam Stout. Ephriam was from the second marriage of George S. Stout to Phoebe Riggs. Your Henry Cooper was from the first marriage of George S. Stout and Jenny Cooper. I have the book Stout and Allied Families, but don't think the parents he lists for George S. Stout is correct. I have found several errors in the book pertaining to my husband's line. Would very much like to exchange information.
