    3. With Charles in the household coming from North Carolina, and with Jasper being born in Indiana, I would bet the family was part of the Quaker branch of the tree. Have you checked any of the Quaker records for North Carolina? There was quite a migration following a decision by the Quaker to free their slaves. This was made illegal by the state legislature, so there was a mass migration to Ohio and Indiana.
