The following obituary appeared in the March 2, 2001, edition of the Plainview (Texas) Daily Herald: FLOYDADA- Funeral services for Elaine Stout, 51, of Levelland, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Anthony Sisemore officiating. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in South Plains Church in Levelland with the Rev. Eddie Trice officiating. Burial will be in Floyd County Memorial Park by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mrs. Stout died Thursday, March 1, 2001 in Lubbock. She was born June 15, 1949, in Floydada where she grew up and graduated from high school. She attended Texas Tech and Hardin Simmons. She moved from Muleshoe to Levelland in 1989 and was librarian at South Plains College. She was a member of Marigolds of Levelland and South Plains Church. On August 16, 1969 she married Paul Dwayne Stout in Floydada. Survivors include her husband; her parents, Thomas and Marie Warren of Floydada; three daughters, Mychelle Simms of Clovis, NM, Natalie Boyd of Waxahachie and Barbie Grimes of Yukon, OK; two brothers, Ed Warren of Levelland and Don Warren of Floydada; a sister, Joyce Owens of Floydada; and three grandchildren. A son, Brian Thomas Stout, died August 22, 1973. The family suggest memorials to South Plains College Library, 1401 South College, Levelland, TX 79336.
