You may want to get birth, death certificates and obituaries for all children. I have found many times there are two obituaries. A short one a day or two after death and another more detailed one a week or two after death. I visited the Armstrong County, PA Web site - it is very nice. Someone there may be able to help you. In the picture you have of her stone - how is the name spelled? You may want to check if she was married in Armstrong County, PA and try and get marriage application - it may list her parents names. May want to get marriage application for your grandmother - it may list more about her mother. Keep me posted - kathiemir@aol.com I love the name Anzonetta. Happy Hunting, Kathie

The cemetery where she was buried, cause of death and that sort of thing. According to their records, she died on April 8, 1967 at the age of 88. I also have a photo my mother got just a few months ago of her headstone and the year is the same... her birth year was 1879). She died in Saxonburg, PA of cerebral anoxia... a stroke. Her headstone says "Anzonetta Lafferty", so I am assuming that Anzonetta is her actual birth name. She is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, which I believe is in the town of Gilpin, in Butler County. I am going to see about sending for a death certificate for her or a birth certificate of my grandmother and see if I can figure out this name mystery. It is possible of course that she was born outside of Pennsylvania... or maybe she went by a middle name. (Although what first name could be so awful that you chose to go by Anzonetta? Ha ha). I also found out that Anzonetta and Clarence Lafferty had seven children! They are (in no particular order): Helen Louise (my grandmother) b. 1915, d. 1963 Infant (stillborn) in 1922 Robert D. b. 1909, d. 1938 George C. b. 1912, d. 1938 (Robert and George were killed in the same car accident), Mary Lena b. 1922, d. 1926 (possibly of leukemia) Millie (no dates) Martha (no dates) Here is a link to the site where I got most of this information. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~treasures/pa/armstrong/gilpin/evergl.htm Scroll down to "Lafferty". In the Stout and Allied Familes book there is the name Angenette on page 221, 230, 385 - none seem to be the person you are looking for. Do you know where she is buried? Do you have obituary? If so, let us know what it contains.

I am not sure of the spelling of her first name, it is unusual. She was born in 1879 and died in 1969. I am pretty certain she was born in Pennsylvania, I know that she died there. Her husband was Clarence Elmer Lafferty and they had six children... Helen, Mary Lena, George, Robert, Millie and Martha.

I have conflicting accounts as to what unit he served in. Here is what I have: Joseph Stout B: 1747, Amwell, Hunterdon, Co., NJ D: 1781 (possibly KIA - location unknown) Wife: Elizabeth Stout (1756 - ?) Married: 7 Jan 1775 1) Listed as private in county of North Hampton, Flying Camp under command on Capt. Arndt. A Josph Stout is Listed as KIA in the Battle of New York. See: http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/pa/northampton/history/local/davis/davis05.txt This is a long article but if you search for Joseph he is listed as "KIA or missing in action" on Aug. 27, 1776. If this is the case this might be a different Joseph since mine died in 1781. 2) Contacted the Daughters of the American Revolution, they state that Joseph Stout belonged to Captain Henry Phillips' company, First Regiment, Hunterdon, according to DAR # 775455 3) While researching the 1st Regiment a third monkey wrench was thrown into the equation. According to the Son's of the American Revolution (SOAR) Joseph Stout is listed under two units: Henry Phillips' company, First Regiment, Hunterdon, NJ Captain Nixon's Troop, Light-Horse, Middlesex, NJ see Official Register of the Officers and men of NJ Page 772 http://www.njstatelib.org/NJ_Information/Searchable_Publications/reg/NJREGn772.htmll I am certain the DAR information is probably correct; however questions remain: 1) Is it possible that Joseph served in the 1st Regiment & the Light Horse units as the SOAR suggest? Or our these different Joseph's? 2) Who is the Joseph killed (taken prissioner) at the Battle of New York under Ardnt's command? 3) Does anyone have information on any of the three units listed above? I anyone can help me on this I would appreciate it. Sincerely; Rob Stout

I'm told that transcriptions of St. John's Cemetery at Kutztown, Berks Co., PA show a Jacob Staudt/Stoudt, born 1758, died 1824. I'm trying to determine who this Jacob was, as his birth/death dates do not match any that I've seen. Also buried there are George Wilhelm and Christina Staud, and a Rebecca. Any and all help will be appreciated. -- Karen
