I have the books STOUT AND ALLIED FAMILIES by H. F. Stout. Are they still for sale? Also, Hackers Creek Pioneer Descendants offers a loose leaf packet on David and Johnathan Stout; Is this the David Stout who married Rebecca Ashton in 1688 in NJ? I have a friend who wants to buy at least some of these. Thanks....Lyle Corder
Hello fellow listers, The following URL will take you to a webpage by Tom Minder who has developed a census spreadsheet that he is offering free. It looks like an excellant way to corral census information all in one place and track your family efficiently. The download is quick and easy. I don't know Tom or have any connection with him. This just looks like a really great tool. http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~minder/census.zip Sharon [email protected]

Hi Stout Searchers All, Are there any Stout descendants on the list whose ancestors came from the East End of London, Limehouse, Poplar or Millwall? My Grandfather was Frederick Walter STOUT b. 1884 was eldest son of Edward Walter STOUT and Emily Elizabeth nee HARVEY who married 1883. Edward Walter STOUT b. 1852 was the son of William Morrison STOUT, Stationer and Mary Ann nee MITCHELL of Limehouse. Fred arrived in Western Australia in 1909 and his parents, brother and sister followed. This was fortunate for them as the site of the family business and dwelling upstairs in West India Dock Road, Limehouse was a crater by the time my Uncle visited it during the war. The business involved importing and dealing which in the 1881 census shows Mary 61 and her household, as George had died, with Harold 30 as a Musical Instrument Importer, Edward 28 as a Cutlery Dealer, James 26 Shop Manager, Joseph Frederick 36 Musical Instrument Dealer nearby, probably next door where his wife Mary had a Baby Linen Shop. There was also possibly another son William STOUT 40 an Oil and Colourman in nearby Poplar. I am very curious to find what happened to my Grandfather's cousins and their descendants. By 1881 Joseph 36 and his wife Mary Sarah T. 26 had Florence Mary 5, Albert Frederick 3 and Charles William 9m. William 40 and his wife Thizra L.32 had William 10, Ethel M 8, Ambrose 4 and Cicily W 1. Two of these cousins, a bachelor and spinster, probably William and Ethel apparently owned the family business when Fred and his family immigrated. One of Mum's cousins corresponded with them, named her daughter Ethel and received a handsome gratuity! Marg. I have in my possession a photograph taken in 1883 of "Alpha Stout" at age 77 (his birth about 1806). The photography studio is Smith's and I believe it is from New York. I am looking for a descendant of him so I can figure out how he relates to my David Stout (1779) and wife Letty Peterson (1784), and their son David Conover Stout (1813) and wife Martha Buttrick (1815). Is Alpha or Alpheus a brother to David Conover Stout?
HELLO, I READ WITH PLEASURE FROM STOUT-L RELATED TO DEATHS. I have a birth certificate, cerca 1896, of my grandfather, Emil Stout, listing his parents in Elwood Indiana.
