The following obituary appeared in the February 25, 2001, edition of the Livingston County (Michigan) Daily Press & Argus: DAVID STOUT David Stout, 80, of Brighton, died Feb. 19 at McPherson Hospital. He was born Jan. 23, 1921, in Detroit, the son of George and Agnes (Phillips) Stout. He married Margaret Tutt of June 1, 1943, in Oklahoma; she survives. He is preceded in death by his son, David, in 1983. Mr. Stout came to our community 64 years ago. He worked in the Brighton area schools as a custodian and retired in 1983. He also served in the Army during World War II. Surviving relatives include his wife; one daughter, Carolyn Gapske of Lakeland Fla.; four grandsons. Cremation has taken place. Memorial graveside will be set at a later date. Memorials in his name can be directed to the family. Envelopes are available at the Herrmann Funeral Home.

I know her parents were JONATHAN STOUT and MARTHA "Patsy" MEEKS. I do not know where JONATHAN was born. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, at the Cloverdale Funeral Home. Viewing will be Tuesday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home, Boise. Brooxie was born May 17, 1918, to Alson Dennis and Alice Victoria (Allen) Stout, at Hominy, Okla., where she grew up. She married Alvin Bickford on Feb. 26, 1937, in Oklahoma. In 1947 they moved to Elmira, Ore.; she worked as a waitress and at a factory in Eugene, Ore. In 1961 she moved to Lynwood, Calif., where she worked in a factory. After retirement she came to Idaho and settled in Nampa. She is survived by her three sons, Richard Bickford and his wife, Theresa of Norwalk, Calif. Bennie Bickford of Nampa, and Edward Dean Bickford and his wife, Sandra of Boise; one daughter, Judith Young and her husband, Tommy of Nampa; a brother, Alson Dennis Stout of Sweet Home, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Brooxie was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Dorothy Rose; a granddaughter, Dawn Marie McMellon; a grandson, Christopher Bickford; and a sister, Zula Marion.

O'Hern, 95, of Palmer died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at her home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Mike McDermott will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Palmer. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m., Tuesday at Palmer Funeral Home in Palmer. Mrs. O'Hern was born on Oct. 27, 1905, in St. Paul to Thomas and Alice (Mulloy) Stout. She attended St. Paul Grade School and graduated from St. Paul High School in 1924. She worked as a telephone operator from 1924 to 1928 in Palmer. She married Bernard M. O'Hern on Sept. 17, 1928, in St. Paul. They lived on a farm north of Palmer. Mr. O'Hern died in 1952. Mrs. O'Hern was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts and rugs for family, baking and reading. Survivors include two sons, Bernard "Barney" O'Hern of Palmer and Timothy O'Hern of Denver; one daughter, Patricia (Mrs. Richard) Williams of Fullerton; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie O'Hare of Ackley, Iowa; and a special friend, Michele Glynn. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Carroll Rubesh and an infant, Mary Alice; one grandson; one brother, Leonard Stout; and three sisters, Josephine Mercer, Guinevere Stout and Alice Kittridge.

The following obituary appeared in the January 17, 2001, edition of the Shreveport (Louisiana) Times: John Raymond Stout, Sr. El Paso, TX. -- John Raymond Stout, Sr. , age 81, passed away in the William Beaumont Army Medical Center, El Paso, Texas, on Wednesday, January 10, 2001, after a long battle with Acute Myeloginous Leukemia. He was a graduate of Bolton High School in Alexandria and attended Louisiana College in Pineville prior to joining the Army Air Corps in 1942. During World War II he was stationed in England with the 8th Air Force and flew 30 combat missions as a crew member on a B-17 bomber. In 1947 he served in Germany during the Berlin Blockade crisis. He was stationed in Japan providing radio support services to united in Korea during the Korean War. From 1959-1961, Mr. Stout served as Military Advisor to the Nationalist Chinese Air Force in Taiwan. He also provided airborne electronics support in Vietnam in 1966-1967. After retiring from military service in 1971, he worked for 17 years in the training department at the Northwest Development Center in Bossier City. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gertrude A. Stout; two sons, John R. Jr. and wife, Sharon, of San Andreas, CA; Mark and wife, Ruth of Portland, OR; four daughters, Frances Phillips and husband, Dana of Sacramento, CA; Carol Bonelli of Las Cruces, NM; Ruth Annette Kassis and husband, Rich of Sacramento, CA; Laura Giglio and husband, Mike of El Paso, TX; seven grandchildren, Brian Wright, Chrisopher Bonelli, Matthew Bonelli, Michael Kassis, Meredith Giglio, Celeste Giglio, and Story Giglio. Services will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 601 Hwy 80 East Haughton, LA at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 18, 2001. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2001. Interment will be in Hill Crest Cemetary in Haughton, LA.

Ms. Stout was born in West Chester, to Robert and Anna Ballinger, on July 1, 1946. She dedicated her short life to assisting the elderly in their homes. She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Ballinger and sister, Sandra Haynes. The family would like to say special thanks to the Hospice Nurses and Home Health Aides for all your compassion. The family would also like to say a very special thanks to two of her sisters, Laura Jones and Elaine Brooks and a very special friend, Debbie Carnes. She is survived by her son, David (Jenny) Stout of Hamilton and daughter, Melissa Stout and Joe Westrick of Hamilton; five grandsons, Todd, Justin, James, Jordan and Joey; one granddaughter, Tiffany; a very special father and grandfather, Robert Ballinger of West Chester; nine sisters; four brothers; numerous nieces and nephews. The following appeared in The Journal-News (Hamilton OH), Saturday, July 17, 1999, Page A2 - Rudolph "Rudy" Edison Stout, Sr., of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away on July 16, 1999, at Mercy Hospital, at the age of 75. Rudy was a well-known builder and carpenter in the Butler County area. He developed his building trade skills while working for the C.C.C. during the depression. He also was a World War II veteran, serving with the United States Army Tank Corp at Camp Polk, Louisiana. He is survived byhis beloved and dedicated wife, Dorothy M. Stout of Hamilton. Together they had an extended family that included fifteen children. He is survived by three sons, Dennis Stout of Ft. Meyers, Florida, Ronald (Stasia) Stout of Hamilton and Rick (Debbie) Stout of Hamilton; four daughters, Dolly (Leroy) Carter of New Carlisle, Indiana, Nancy Stout of Naples, Florida, Tonda Steele of Hamilton and Sonya (Paul) Cox of Hamilton; two step-sons, Charles (Sharon) Steele, Jr., of Chesapeake, Virginia and Frederick (Diane) Steele of Hamilton; and five step-daughters, Mary Williams of Irvin, Kentucky, Ogielene (Ronald) Withrow of Hamilton, Geraldine Butler of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Eileen (George) Dell of Hamilton and Barbara (Charles0 Gharding of Dayton, Florida; several grandchildren and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Putnam Stout and Grace (Neal) Stout and his son, Rudolph Stout, Jr. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Stout, 78, Fort Wayne, died at 12:30 a.m. Friday (October 20, 2000) at the Lutheran Home, Fort Wayne, where she has been a resident for two years. Mrs. Stout worked as a GTE telephone operator for 17 years, retiring in 1984. Shye was a member of the Simpson United Methodist Church and the Village Woods Neighborhood Association. She was born on Sept. 10, 1922, in Huntington County. She was married to Donald Stout, who died in 1984. Survivors include two sons, Jeffery A. Stout, New Haven, and Gregory A. Stout, Fort Wayne; a daughter, Jennifer J. Back, Austin, Texas; two sisters, Betty Eggeman, Fort Wayne, and Barbara Paul, Markle; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Calling will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour before the 11 a.m. services on Monday at the Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne. Officiating at the service will be Chaplain Roger Olsen of the Lutheran Home. Burial will be at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
