This is basically the way I remember the story, although off the top of my head (without looking it up), I can't remember if her maiden name was Kent (or Lent) or Van Princen, or vice-versa. Penelope Thompson is a new one, I hadn't seen it before. Do you remember where you collected it from? I enjoyed the piece earlier on Penelope, but I had heard things a little differently. I had heard that Penelope's maiden name was Kent, and that Van Princin was her married name. I think the thinking was that her family had migrated to Holland to avoid persecution. She had married in Holland and was migrating to the Americas when her party was attacked and she was left widowed and was nearly killed herself. This would have made Richard Stout her second husband. Anyone else hear the story this way? I am looking for information on my one and only (so far) STOUT. Rosannah Stout, b.Nov 12 1777 d.Jan 23 1851. She married Joshua Mickel. They lived around Friesburg NJ. I would guess there is a possibility that she is connected to the Penelope line farther north in Jersey. (Other branches of the family that lived in the Friesburg/ Dividing Creek area came from central NJ). Thanks.
I will join in the roll call. I have the honour of being descended from two of Richard and Penelope's sons. I hope that the tabs are ok when I send this. I have never been asked for the password of my mother's maiden name, and I would not be STUPID enough to give it to a stranger on the phone or via e-mail. Life is nothing more than the "Law of Public Information" in all states. Anyone out there that thinks that posting a lineage file on the net with minimal information (which I sometimes question the accuracy of the spellings/dates etc) is leading to finding anyone who is living today's whereabouts is beyond naive Public info is unfortunately available on all of us, whether we are listed on a lineage file or not. Get real! Any birth/death cert, traffic violation, past due on charge cards, school records, tax liens, any newspaper articles of any mention, the list goes on and on. is sadly for all of the world to see. Genealogy records are the small pic, current lifestyle is the big one. Let's not hold back on sharing our lineage's, when every part of our life thanks to the laws of today are open to public scrutiny. I know since I am an Associate Law Librarian......I have never had a question in the many years I have worked in this field relating to genealogy information. But as a word of advice...avoid those speeding tickets, anyone can find out about them. But in reality nobody in the outside world really cares who you are related to.
