Hi Sharron: Your recent search for documentation regarding the father (John or Richard?) of Sailor John Stout born ca. 1680 reactivated my search for documentation of my FRANCES STOUT who married JOHN THROCKMORTON ca. 1720 in Freehold, NJ. (For many of their descendants see "The Descendants of Job & Frances (Stout) Throckmorton & their late 18th-century Migration to Virginia & Ohio" at <http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~bart/>). Herald Stout in his "Stout & Allied Families" (1986), 1, lists my Francis Stout as a daughter of John Stout (1645-1724) but offers no documentation. John Stillwell in his "Historical & Genealogical Miscellany" (1916), 4:320, presumes that my Frances was born too late to be a daughter of a son of Richard & Penelope Stout (such as the above John) and suggests that she might have been a granddaughter of son Richard (1646-1717). I can find only one granddaughter of the above Richard by the name of Frances Stout. She was a daughter of Richard's son John Stout (1671-1699). But she married Wilbur Lippincott! Now when I go back to Stillwell's book (p. 307) I see that he lists 6 children for John Stout (1645-1724) with no Frances among them and then he adds the note "Probably others." So far this is the sum total of my "documentation" for listing Frances as a daughter of John & Elizabeth (Crawford) Stout. Can someone please solve this problem? Thanks in advance.
