Might I suggest reading the log of Christopher Columbus to get a good "handle" on the cannibalism "thing" in the Carribean. It makes for a great read for all of us interested in genealogy plus the story behind all the things we learn about our roots. Background never hurts. From all I've read there seems to have been much more connection to New England and that area than would seem so today. But then look at the Puerto Rico New York connection today.
