Hi, folks -- I put this out to the list every so often in the hopes that one day it'll ring somebody's bell. I'm looking for information on William Hopgood Stone, who according to census records was born in Virginia in 1822. He at some point migrated to Georgia, where he settled in Polk County and married Mary "Mollie" Kate Garner and had a large family. He was my ggggrandfather and I have lots of information on his children/spouse to share if anyone is interested. I've always assumed that Hopgood might have been his mother's maiden name, but of course, have no proof of this. Any information anyone could offer on this fellow would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
