I am searching for information on my gggrandfather Ezekiel A. Stone. He is a mystery. We know nothing of his background or his family. He was born c. 1800. The only known records are in Laurens County, SC in 1936 where he was listed in Deed as Trustee of Pleasant Grove (Springs) Methodist Church when additional land was deeded to the church. The 1840 Census of Laurens County shows him with 4 children. Tradition handed down in the family is that he was from Georgia. At some point, before 1850, Ezekiel went to Georgia, supposedly to visit relatives and did not return. He did not appear with the family in the 1850 census, although there had been no notification of death. He was married to Naomi "Oney" Yeargin, daughter of Oney Bowles and John Yeargin of Laurens County, SC. (b. May 16, 1901). Any help on our mysterious Zeke will be welcomed. Margaret Todd
