Names - STONE, WEEKS, COUCH, REED, STRONG Stokenham parish Devon; South Petherwin, Cornwall; St. Cleer parish Cornwall, Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, ????? somewhere in England: I am researching descendants and forebears of SAMUEL STONE, including WILLIAM HENRY STONE (JR). Samuel(of hamlet of Frittiscombe in parish of Stokenham, Devon) m. ANN WEEKS 24 Nov 1811 at Stokenham. Ann was the daughter of THOMAS WEEKS & SARAH ADAMS who m. 19 Jul 1772 at Stokenham. Samuel and Ann Stone had many children including: Charlotte b. 1812, Anne b. 1813, Samuel b. 1815, Jane b. 1818, Nicholas, Mary Grace b. 1828 and William Henry Stone b. 19 Aug 1832. WILLIAM HENRY STONE (my gggrandfather) d. aft. 1901. He went to St. Cleer Cornwall and became a mining engineer. His nephew, John Stone, b. 1833, illegitimate son of sister Ann, followed him to St. Cleer and became a miner. WHS married ANN COUCH REED of South Petherwin, dtr of Richard Reed and Harriet Lavis/Leves/Levis of So. Petherwin (m. 23 Apr 1832). Richard Reed was the son of John Reed and Ann Couch of So. Petherwin (m.13 Jul 1807). Ann Couch Reed Stone d. 1901 in St. Cleer. WILLIAM HENRY STONE and Ann had 2 children: Mary Jane b. @1860 (m. Benjamin Strong of Launceston and later living in Plymouth) and WILLIAM HENRY STONE (JR) b. 31 Dec 1865 in St. Cleer (hamlet of Crowsnest). WILLIAM HENRY STONE JR. went to USA in 1883 via Detroit Michigan and went to Seattle WA. He married ALICE BAKER of Aymestry, Hereford 25 Dec 1889. They had 2 children born in Los Angeles CA: Bessie Ann (FULLER) (1892-1925) and CLYDE HENRY STONE (1896-1956). WHS JR and Alice separated in 1899 and she obtained a divorce in LA in 1905 by default. WHS JR returned to England by that time and apparently remarried and had at least one additional daughter. Have no idea where he went, who he married, the ID of any children or when he died.
