    3. Hi STONE researchers: I'm still trying to get more info on our STONE/MILLER/YOUNG family. Posthumus wrote: > About our STONE line. They were from Pilly and Bucks Co., PA. William was born about 1762, died 12/4/1831. He married Dorothea(don't know if this is a first or middle name) MILLER of Quakerstown, PA on 11/13/1785 or 86?. I do not have Dorothea's birth or death dates, or her parents' names. We know of one child, Dorothea, born 1/24/1785, or 86?, Phila. PA; died 7/5/1850, Phila.,PA, She married George YOUNG 1805-1810, of Phila. George YOUNG was born about 1782, Phila.,PA died 6/5/1844, Phila.,PA. Unfortunately I don't know when the STONEs(STEINs) came to this country, who William's parents were, or if he had any siblings. I do know he fought in the Rev.War on the" Delaware Sloop of War". In his pension records(1838), Dorothea, then age 72, claimed she married William 11/13/1786. Yet their daughter was supposedly born 1/24/1785(from other documentation). Is this a misprint, or a mis-statement due to age? or fact? I don't know. Another statement in the pension, In 1820, when William applied for his pension, he stated he still had two children at home, a son 10 and a daughter 14(no names given). If this was the case, it would have made Dorothea about 40 and 44 years old when she had the children and these children are too old to be our Dorothea STONE who married George YOUNG. These families lived in the Passyunk/Moyamensing area of Phila. This in all of south Philly. It extends from South St. south and from the Schuylkill to the Delaware Rivers. They belonged to St. Michael's & Zion Lutheran CHurch there. William STONE was buried in the Blockley Baptist Cemetery on 12/5/1831. (Blockley was a township on the west banks of the Schuylkill River near or on the grounds of the Ole Alms House.) Let me know if anything looks familiar. > > HAPPY HUNTING. > > > Rose In a Separate message I'll send my surname list.
