Hi all. Oral family history has it that Lucy Stone, the suffragette, was my (g)ggggrand-aunt on my father's mother's side. I have been trying to research hew family tree, but I have been having almost no luck so far. It occurred to me to try to attack the problem from the other side, and so I decided to join this list, and to start researching Lucy Stone. Of course, the odds of me having much luck in this direction is pretty slim. I have no idea if she was a blood relation, or if the relationship is through marriage. Anyway, here is some of the info that I do have. If anyone with one of these STONEs in their family tree recognizes any of my family names (see below), I would be truly grateful to hear from you. I was able to track down some very good Lucy Stone info at these sites: http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/d/a/v/Patricia-C-Davis/GENE5-0015.html http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/d/a/v/Patricia-C-Davis/GENE5-0012.html Lucy Stone parents: Francis Stone and Hannah Mathews, married 27 March 1804 in Brookfield, MA. Here is a brief summary of the children of Francis and Hannah: Bowman Stone (1805-1807). Francis Stone (1807-????) married (c1844 in MA) Harriet Blake. Elizabeth Mathews Stone (1808-1836) married (????) Ira Barlow. William Bowman Stone (1811-????) married (1842 in Hardwick, MA) Phebe W. Robinson. re-married (1853 in Hardwick, MA) Samantha Robinson. Lucy Stone's husband had a brother named Samuel C. Blackwell, who married Antoinette Louisa Brown. I have no other information on the Blackwells. A summary of my grandmother's info: Mary Elizabeth Taylor (c1894, 1974) married (1926, Wayne Cty, MI) to Edward Morris Burd (c1888-1934) Father: Frank Taylor (????-????) I would be happy to share all the information that I have with anyone who is looking for more details than the brief summaries that I have provided here. Thanks, Jim Burd :) Boulder, CO
