A couple of you asked me about my Stones from VA, SC, TN, and AR. Here is a note I wrote a while back on my Stone line: Looking for info. on John Stone b. abt. 1750/1765, ,,Virginia. d. Nov 1815/1817, ,Spartanburg, SC. Married Mary ?? b.abt. 1760, d. 1851, Marion Co., AL. Marriage date probably abt. 1775, ,Hanover Co.,Virginia . I am told they had 13 children, but I have 15 possible names which are: Jefferson (?) Stone, Henry Stone b. abt 1776, William Stone (m. Frances) b. abt 1778, Aaron Stone (m. Susannah Pool or a Rebecca?) b. abt 1779, Seaburn (Seburn) b. abt 1782, John Stone (m. Annie Lyle) b. abt 1782, Samuel Stone (m. Polly) b. abt 1784, Ambrose (m. Matilda "Tilla" Smith) b. bet. 1786-1790, Moses Stone (m. Catherine Smith) b. bet 1786-1790, Hillory Stone (m. Martha "Matilda" Bagwell) b. abt 1787, Edward Stone b. abt 1788, Jane (?) Stone (m. QUINN) b. abt 1790, Burzealy (Zealy) Stone (m. Nancy) b. abt 1792, Pharis Stone (m. Sarah) b. abt 1794, and Tilman Stone (m. Susan) b. abt 1795. I descend from John's son, Aaron Stone b.abt 1780, ,W. Pittsylvania, VA and d. 14 Aug 1857, McLemoresville,Carroll,Tenn. He married Susannah (Suzanna) Pool, abt. 1803, ,Spartanburg Co, South Carolina. She was b. 1784/1786, ,W. Pittsylvania,Virginia. D. 24 May 1859, McLemoresville, Carroll, TN. I have also been told that her name MIGHT be Rebecca ?? and that Aaron might have been born in 1795. Aaron and wife had 13 children, and I descend from their son, William Martin Stone b. 1 Jan 1825, ,Spartanburg,South Carolina. He died 1881, in Marmaduke,Greene Co., AR. m. Sarah Jane Cribbs in 1846. I show they had 7 children and I descend from their son, James Baucher Stone b.1855, Gibson County, TN. He died 13 Feb 1930, Marmaduke, Greene Co., Arkansas and was married to Frances Arlene "Lena" Ross and his first wife was "Mittie." Here is a little more info. I have received, "After marriage to ? John and wife moved to Spartanburg Co., SC. At time to organizing in 1785 he was 1st petty juror drawn from 3rd Monday in Sept. 1785. 1790 Census shows 9 sons, 1 daughter, and 5 slaves. 2 sons became leading preachers in Miss."
