This post is to add more information concerning the STONEs and Von STEINs, I hope there is someone out there that may see something in common. The information I have, given to me by my Mother's cousin in Pennsylvania, indicates my STONES original name was Von or Van STEIN. She says that a Baron Von STEIN went from Holland to England in 1680 and then to America, and settled in Edgewood, RI, now part of Providence, RI. The first STONE I have in my records, Benjamin STONE had ten children, the oldest was Benjamin Gorton STONE. I must make it very plain that a lot of this is just verbal information, that I have not been able to fully confirm, yet, but I have to have something to work with. I'm sure you know how that is. Below is a small part of the descendant list of Benjamin STONE. Ernest Eldridge STONE was my grandfather. I am struggling to fill in details, since so many of my connections are in PA it's hard to trace when I am 1200 miles away in Mississippi.
