Searching for any information on John A. Stone who was born in North Carolina in 1818 and married Mary Nolan, also born NC, about 1838, in either North Carolina or Tennessee. I recently learned Mary's maiden name (Nolan) from her gravestone in Two Bayou Cemetery in Ouachita Co., AR. John and Mary both died in 1863. I have not yet located where in North Carolina they were born, and I haven't been able to find a marriage record for them in either NC or TN, where their first child, Sarah Elizabeth Stone, was born in 1839. Other children were born in Mississippi and in Arkansas, where they finally settled. If anyone has easy access to any Stone marriage records from NC or TN, I would certainly appreciate it if these could be checked.
