Hi y'all! It's been awhile since I posted my STONE line. I'm certain that there are MANY newcomers to the list. Please check to see if you know anything on this line that might help or steer me in the right direction! I found my Alvah (possibly Thomas Alvah) STONE first on the Fayette Co. (1850), then on the Rush Co. (1860) Indiana census records. He is listed with his wife, Mary and two daughters, Clarissa (b.1826CT) and Lucy Cornelia (b.1836 April 27th NY). I believe he may have been the Alvah Stone born to Thomas and Polly Parmalee in Litchfield CT on Jan 20, 1797. The only 'catch' is that I found him in a book (The Family of William Stone by Edward Perry Stone, Sr. [1980]) as dying in 1850. He dosen't list how or where he died. I have tried to contact him several times over the last few years, but have never recieved any reply. Does anybody out there know any more about this family?? I only have a few pages from the book (which stop with the family of Thomas and Polly). By the way, the other children of Thomas and Polly were: Fanny b.9 July 1784 Norman b.19 May 1787 Orange b.2 July 1789 Leman b.20 Feb 1793 Julius b. 12 Nov 1794 Alvah b. 20 Jan 1797 Russell b. 26 Nov 1798; father of Rev Hiram Stone. Clarissa b. 9 Dec 1803 Augustus b. 30 Dec 1807 I do find it interesting that Thomas had a brother named Jehiel whose daughter, Sally married a Hiram Woodcock. Their son, Frederick S. (b.1833) could be the same one who signed in my gr. aunt Lucy's guest album years later as 'your cousin, Frederick S. Woodcock'. There is also a note dated Jan 1856 by 'cousin, Wilbur F. Stone'. Also, there are two marriages listed in THE BARBOUR COLLECTION showing an Alvah Stone marrying 1st to Amy Grannis (of Litchfield) on Oct. 5, 1834; and 2nd, to a Cordelia (could it have been Cornelia M. (Mary??) Buell on Nov. 1, 1840. I KNOW that these are alot of "ifs", that's why I'm asking for your HELP!!! Thanks and best wishes to ALL of you! Becky
