    1. [STONE] STONE family NY 1700s to Wisconsin and IL in 1800s
    2. Ebenezer STONE was born, possibly, in CT, in the mid 1700s. He settled in Victor, NY in 1790s and married Clarissa ODELL. His son Hiram Hoyt STONE was born in 1800 and another son Horatio Odell STONE was born in 1811. Ebenezer joined his sons in Michigan and then Chicago in 1840s. He passed away in Chicago in 1843. His son Hiram had 5 children - Milton, Abner, Hiram W., Jennie and Emily. All but Emily were born in Monroe County, NY. Emily was born in Michigan in 1846. In late 1840s this family moved to Chicago and about 10 years later to Wisconsin first to Port Washington and then to Waukesha where the family owned a small store. His son Horatio bought some 'swamp land' on the shores of Lake Michigan and made his fortune selling land that was part of the city of Chicago. He was also owner of a mercantile business in Chicago. Ebenezer, Horatio and his family are buried at Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago - section M. Would sure like to connect with more descendants of this family - have already met one 'cousin' on line. We are trying to find out more about Ebenezer and Clarissa. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Joan
