This family is a mystery, but appear to have not been wealthy. The families appear to have been in Caswell, NC after Pittsylvania, VA, but John died ca. 1859 in Rockingham, NC. Twice married, additional descendants of John's children with first wife Eleanor must be out there somewhere. Only clearly presenting the children of John and Ellender (John later married Nancy J. HARDY [HARDIE] in Rockingham, and had an entire 'second' family.) Children of John & Eleanor TRAVIS STONE appear to have been: Their oldest child, (1) Thomas R. STONE, b. 1825, d. 1864, is my ancestor. His children were: Thomas S., Laura, and George Washington. Thomas R. STONE d. 1864 in VA. Other children of John and Eleanor were: 2) Lucy Frances STONE b. ca. 1827, Caswell Co., NC; reportedly m. 1847, Martin Joseph DURHAM, Sr. 3) William Epperson STONE b. 1830, Caswell Co., NC. Proven children: John W. STONE, b. 1862/62 Pinkney STONE, b. 1863/1864 4) John F. STONE b. 1831/32, Caswell Co., NC; m. Mary E. FURGASON [FERGASON, FURGASON.] Their recorded child was: Thomas STONE, b. 1857/58. John d. 1863. 5) Robert J. STONE b. 1833/34, Caswell Co., NC; m. Mary HORSEFORD. Their proven child was John STONE, b. 1859/1860. 6) Pinkney Washington STONE b. 13 Mar 1838, Oregon Hill [then Oregonville] Twp., Rockingham Co., NC; m. Mary LEA [LEE.] Their proven children were: Mary E. STONE, b. 1862/63; John W. STONE, b. 1865/66; and Sarah F. STONE, b. 1858/59, NC. --- Halfbrothers and halfsisters to the above sibllings were: Samuel STONE, Paulina STONE, Peter STONE, Martha STONE, Nancy STONE, Julia STONE, Virginia STONE.
