Seeking info on Stephen STONE b abt 1787 in SC and died after 1850 in Cass (Bartow) Co GA. He married Elizabeth ?? (b abt 1786) abt 1812 probably in Laurens District SC. A Stephen STONE appears in the 1820 Greenville District census. In 1830 there are 2 Stephens - one in Abbeville and one in Spartanburg. In 1840 he appears in Laurens District and in 1850 in Cass (later Bartow) County, Georgia. I am descended from his son, Stephen (Jr.), who was born abt 1820 in SC. Stephen Jr. married Mariah ?? abt 1848 probably in Laurens District SC. Stephen Jr. and Mariah STONE appear in the 1850 Cass Co census with their son, George STONE, b in December of 1849 in SC. They had 2 more children, Mary (b 1852) and Marshal Umphery (b 1854) before Stephen Jr died sometime before 1860. Some say that Stephen (Sr.) is the son of Micajah STONE (b 1745) from Lunenburg Co VA. Does anyone have proof of this? Thanks in advance, Jack Martin [email protected]
